#108. Near Marlotte.12 x 18, oil on panel. "Gilbert Munger" lower left. A faded handwritten label on the reverse is reported as showing "Near Marlotte." The Hanover Gallery in London listed painting(s) with this title at their 1889-90 Winter Exhibition and their 1890 Summer Exhibition. Sold at Ziemann Kunstauktionhaus, Bremen Germany, auction of 21 November 1994, as lot 126 Landscape with Angler and Cows for DM 2000 + premium. Bought-in at Neumeister Kunstauktionen, Munich, auction 4451, 20 March 1996, lot 686 Near Charlotte; est DM 9000. Bought-in at Christie's Amsterdam sale of 26 October 1999, lot 87; est NLG 6000 - 8000. The village of Marlotte was located about 15 km SE from the village of Barbizon in France, an area where Munger painted extensively.
