  28 x 42, on canvas. "Gilbert Munger" lower left. Kende Galleries of Gimbel Brothers New York sold the following painting as lot 50 at their 2 April 1943 sale for $30. The lot is not illustrated, but described as:

50.    Farm Scene    A landscape panorama including cows at a pool, a distant hay-rick, peasants, and a cottage near a tree, seen between forest trees in the background.    28 x 42    Canvas    Signed lower left.

The size and description make it very likely that the locale is in France.
