#188. Near Asnieres, Paris.

12 x 18, Oil on panel. "Gilbert Munger" lower left. Similar prospect to painting #167. Thanks to Paul Maybery of St. Paul MN for remembering a Munger painting sighted at Wagner's house Tribschen in Lucern Switzerland 20 years ago. The painting is still at Richard Wagner Museum Luzern - Tribschen. It was probably given to the Museum about 1960 by a Belgian banker named Albert Goeffes. A plaque on the bottom front of the frame reads "Gilbert Munger." A materials supplier stamp on the back of the board reads: "F. Mary & Fils, 26 Rue Chaptal, Paris." Seven paintings in this catalog have this stamp. Image from Museum's digital photograph.
